Zack Danger Brown Started a Kick-starter campaign to raise money for a potato salad he was thinking about making and then received $65,941 as of July 8th.
Using the Kick-starter website, Zack, from Columbus, Ohio, used the website for donations and after more than 20,000 Facebook shares the money started rolling in.
Zack said: "Basically I'm just making potato salad. I haven't decided what kind yet."
At the first hurdle he offered to make extra potato salad if he got a good response, then promised a pizza party and finally when he reached his objective he decided that celebratory hats were in order.
Along the way Zack promised us better mayonnaise, a live stream of the cooking process and a hall to make a carb-loaded alternative to coleslaw."The internet loves potato salad! Let's show them that potato salad loves the internet!" .
"It might not be that good. It's my first potato salad."
